Farah Ismail

I am a human rights advocate with particular experience in the field of migrant and refugee rights under international law. I have vast knowledge in human rights instruments, international refugee law, and migration movements in the MENA region. I have extensive experience in refugee status determination procedures, resettlement procedures, protection and humanitarian assistance, research and policy and advocacy.

With nearly a decade of experience in humanitarian work and research, I've held roles with UNHCR in Jordan and Pakistan, the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, and the International Rescue Committee. My work has spanned diverse areas, from data analysis and report writing to refugee law, protection and advocacy, both regionally and internationally.

My educational background encompasses a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Translation, a Graduate Diploma in Migration and Refugee Studies earned at the American University in Cairo, and a Master of Arts in Migration and Diaspora Studies completed at Carleton University in Canada.
