Licensed Senior Reactor Operator is responsible with two operators in a shift for maintaining safe and efficient operation of Jordan Research and Training Reactor JRTR. With the ability to maintain high standards of quality of performance; excellent organizational and operation-handling skills; can monitor and evaluate the jobs and duties of workers and complies to the highest standards as set by the facility. Senior Reactor Operator

 

Jordan Research and Training Reactor (JRTR)

 

  • Supervise and direct the reactor operation from the main control room in accordance with appropriate procedures in Normal, Abnormal operations,s or emergency situations.

 

  • Conduct inspections and tests according to certified procedures. Identify the alarms in the control room and analyze them. Issue work request if required. 

 

  • Coordinate systems operation and review the works (e.g., Irradiation, Maintenance) inside reactor/Service building.

 

  • Supervise the refueling and target loading into the reactor core.

 

  • Review certified procedures for the operation department and train new staff through lectures, on-job training, and simulator training.

  • Monitor / operate the nuclear reactor and its auxiliary systems within safety Limits in the main control room in accordance with respected operation procedure.

 

  • Identify the alarms in the control room and analyze them. fill the data sheets each shift.

 

  • Reporting faults directly to the responsible parties by issuing work requests. Conduct inspections and tests on reactor systems

 

  • Prepare and review certified procedures (Normal/Abnormal Operation Procedures) for the operation department.

 

  • Training new staff in the operation department (giving them lectures, on-job training, and exams).

Commissioning Engineer and System Operator

 

Jordan Research and Training Reactor (JRTR)

 

  • Routine patrols every shift on reactor auxiliary systems on the field to check their status (Fluid Systems, Compressed Air system, Demi-Water production facility, pumps, valves, etc..).

 

  • Participate in fluids and I&C commissioning tests and coordinate with main control room the operation and control of the auxiliary systems in JRTR during tests.

 

  • Diagnosis faults in accordance with a system user manual, engineering drawings e.g. (P&ID, CLD or SLD) and reported directly to the responsible parties by issuing work requests.

 

  • Follow-up commissioning tests, periodic / surveillance inspections, and maintenance work with the working groups and report the work progress to the reactor control room shift supervisor.

 

  • Review reactor operation procedures and some system performance test procedures (during the commissioning phase).
