عن Samah Hashem:
I am a licensed educator with a master's degree that specializes in education. I have a solid experience as a teacher and have taught all grade levels. Currently, I work as an EAL teacher in the International . Community School (ICS) based in Amman, Jordan. I have a solid foundation in the American and British Curriculum as I worked in American Public Schools for 5 years and now I work in a private British School. I have taught different subject areas in a diverse environment. In addition to being a licensed general classroom teacher, I am also a moderate disabilities/ ELL licensed educator. This means that I am able to modify my instructions and accommodate my students based on their needs; IEP plans and/or 504s.
Last school year, I worked as a Fourth Grade Teacher in an inclusive classroom at Glover Elementary School/ Milton Public Schools in the State of Massachusetts. I had 22 students with various needs and backgrounds. Seven of my students speak another language at home and 5 students are on IEP plans.
I believe that I am a good candidate for this position not only because I have several teaching licenses and experience in teaching almost all grade levels, but also because I have worked with diverse populations and encouraged success in a cross-cultural environment. This will ensure that all students will reach their full potential academically and socially. In addition to that, I am a native Arabic speaker, and I am fully aware of the Jordaninan culture as I attended Jordanian schools for my elementary and secondary education which I think is a plus for this position.

Pursuing my undergraduate ( BS in Business Administration ) and graduate education (M.Ed. in Education) in the United States has definitely played a role in how I view different educational systems. But serving in curriculum review committees as well as being a public school teacher in Massachusetts, which has the best ranked public schools in the United States, has not only built my experience as an educator, but also made me realize that the role of an educator is not only to teach students, but also it is a vital role in empowering students, advocating for their needs, fostering their love for learning, providing the guidance they need to be able to see their own and full potential, and to celebrate their differences and see the value in it.
I graduated from Curry College with a Master's degree in Special Education last year. I completed my pre-practicum experience in the Fall of 2020, as well as completed my practicum experience in the Spring of 2021. I have used formal and informal assessments to identify students’ strengths and weaknesses across content areas in third grade. This has allowed me to successfully plan and implement lessons that fall in accordance with the district’s curriculum maps as well as the State’s Standards.
