About me:

I started my career as a nuclear engineer at Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC). With a massive energy and motivation, I began review the Preliminary Safety Analysis Reports (PSAR) from ROSATOM and ATMEA, comparing their compliance with IAEA safety standards and other national and international licensing requirements. 

After three years of working as a nuclear engineer, I decided enhance my education develop my professional skills. In 2015, I have enrolled in Nuclear Power Plant Engineering master’s program in KEPCO International Nuclear Graduate School (KINGS). The program offers both practical and theoretical knowledge. On my first year at KINGS, I have been taught APR Familiarization, APR Intensive, Systems Engineering (SE) 1&2, and other nuclear related elective courses. The Engineering Mathematics, Nuclear Engineering, Engineering Theory have been done during the boot camp of the first year. 

At the beginning of the second year, I have chosen Technology Expert Program (TEP), which spreads over three trimesters. In this course, I have worked with small team of students and two professional expertise professors on Nuclear Thermal Hydraulic systems (NTH) and codes for PWRs with focus on APR1400 and OPR100 nuclear reactors, several NTH projects were accomplished during this year. I have been working on design enhancement of APR1400 to cope with potential accidents, two designs have been developed, modeled, and verified using TH codes. 

Furthermore, an individual work has been done on publishing three academic papers related to SBO and LOCA accidents, this work would not be possible without my academic advisors at KINGS. 

I started 2017 with leading a group of engineers to develop Small Modular Rectors Technology Assessment (SMRs RTA). The final RTA includes SMART, Nuscale, HTGR-200, Xe-100, ACP-100, and RITM. Last year, the RTA has accomplished and four reactors/ technologies have been selected. Those four reactors has been reevaluated in a Key Factor Evaluation document this year. 

I have participated in drafting two feasibility studies and I took the lead in one of them. Recently, my team and I, in cooperate with financial team have prepared Bid Invitation Structure (BIS) for SMR bidding process, which has not released to the vendors yet. I’d like to add that I manage the communication between my organization and KAERI, CNNC, CEZC, and KA-CARE. 

I am a member of the Licensing and Safety Committee at Energy and Minerals regulatory Commission (EMRC), the national regulator, I am representing JAEC working together with the EMRC to help facilitate setting up the licensing process for SMR. 

On the other hand, I would like to mention that I have been working with people from a diverse mix of countries and cultures. I worked as Configuration Management Engineer at Shin Hanul NPP On Job Participation at Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP), precisely on a project of matching the Requirements of US-NRC with APR-1400 SAR and systems description reports. Likewise, I have participated in two internships, the first one at Centre d'étude de l'nuclear Energy (SCK.CEN), and the second one at Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Central Research Institute (KHNP-CRI).
