    "Roles & responsibilities:

    Educating students and families about university admissions and financial aid or scholarship possibilities, locally and internationally.
    Educating students on appropriate interviewing techniques, self-assessment tools, and application essay writing techniques.
    Following up as appropriate via email, telephone, and/or zoom.
    Providing guidance and resources and teaching tools to navigate the university and career search and application process.
    Guiding students and their parents through the university admissions and application process.
    Handling incoming inquiries and requests and preparing written responses to routine inquiries.
    Inviting university admissions officers to visit the school and meet with students.
    Maintaining a strong working knowledge of universities, which includes making regular visits to universities. Stay current on higher education and careers changes.
    Meeting individually with student(s) and parents to explore and identify appropriate university options.
    Monitoring individual student progress throughout the university application process.

    Participating in events throughout the year sponsored by the University Counseling Office, such as evening university fairs, workshops, careers days and university trips.

    Preparing and editing documents; checking and entering data; preparing and sending mailings and packages.
    Preparing supplementary materials to be sent to universities. Oversee that school credentials (transcripts and letters of recommendation) get sent to universities.

    Providing support to the Director of University Counseling to ensure best practices and efficient operation of the University Counseling department.

    Pursuing appropriate professional development, including attendance at annual conference(s) in the counseling and admission professional organizations.
    Reviewing files and records to answer general requests for information.
    Arranging university visits and trips to local university fairs.
    Assisting with other related duties as assigned by Director of University Counseling.
    Building and maintaining relationships with admission professionals.
    Checking and distributing documents and correspondence.

    Compiling records of office activities and maintaining a database system; update and maintain databases such as mailing lists and contact lists.

    Assemble, analyze, and present data on high school testing, university application results.
    Serving as a general resource for students, parents, and teaching faculty regarding admission criteria and university data.
    Sharing financial aid and scholarship information on a timely basis with students and families.
    Understanding the university admission process at a variety of institution types and selectivity levels.

    Working effectively one-on-one with students and be able to address small or large gatherings of people to discuss the university admission and research process.

    Working primarily with seniors and juniors, but also with grade 10 students when appropriate.
    Working with faculty to integrate university-related skills (i.e., essay writing, interviewing, etc.) into regular curricula.
    Writing school recommendations for members of the senior class (detailed letters of support).


    Job requirements:
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
    Experience & Skills
    Excellent English skill
    Background in admissions or university counseling preferred.
    Ease and experience with Windows-based computers, internet and emails, and proficient typing abilities
    Knowledge of relevant applications including MS Office, UCAS and Commonapp are preferable.
