The Network Engineer – Tier 3 is a senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for the design, architecture, and deployment of complex, large-scale enterprise network solutions.
This role represents the highest level of technical escalation, sets engineering standards, leads advanced capacity planning, and drives innovation to define the future state of Acuative's global network infrastructure.
Key ResponsibilitiesNetwork Architecture & Design
Lead high-level and low-level design (HLD/LLD) of enterprise network solutions, including core routing, spine-and-leaf architectures, and multi-vendor security environments.
Ensure scalable, resilient, and secure network designs aligned with business objectives.
Strategic Planning & Optimization
Conduct advanced capacity planning and performance modeling.
Define and maintain network technology roadmaps to support current and future business growth.
Advanced Security & Compliance
Act as the SME for advanced security solutions such as SD-WAN, Zero Trust architectures, and Network Access Control (NAC).
Ensure compliance with internal security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Complex Systems Integration
Lead the integration of new technologies, vendors, and acquired environments into the existing global network.
Design and manage hybrid and cloud connectivity across public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
Mentorship & Standards Leadership
Establish best practices, standards, and operational procedures for Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineers.
Provide technical mentorship, conduct knowledge-transfer sessions, and serve as the final escalation point.
Essential Skills & Expertise
Expert Networking & Security
Deep expertise in large enterprise networks, including MPLS, SD-WAN, advanced BGP design, and high-availability architectures.
Expert-level implementation, auditing, and troubleshooting of enterprise security solutions.
Cloud Networking
Strong hands-on experience with public cloud networking concepts and architectures (AWS and/or Azure).
Automation & Orchestration
Proven ability to use automation, orchestration tools, and scripting to deploy, manage, and scale network infrastructure efficiently.
Vendor & Technology Management
Experience evaluating emerging network technologies and working with vendors to ensure technical fit, scalability, and seamless integration.
Required Qualifications
Experience
Minimum of 6+ years of expert-level experience in network engineering, network architecture, or a senior technical consulting role.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
Certifications (Required)
One or more current professional/expert-level certifications, such as:
Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Fortinet Certified Engineer (NSE 7)
Juniper Networks Certified Professional (JNCIP)
Certifications (Preferred)
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty
Other equivalent expert-level vendor certifications
