- Leads and contributes actively the implementation of the SMART Project deliverables as they relate to CSSD areas of work and acts as a liaison between CSSD teams and internal and external project stakeholders.
- Supports the integration of sustainable procurement considerations into tendering actions related to the SMART project, raises awareness amongst procurement colleagues and relevant requisitioning units on sustainable procurement.
- Conducts or coordinates trainings to staff on sustainability areas related to procurement, administration, supply and logistics, in accordance with the staff awareness and training programme that forms part of the SMART project.
- Contributes to an institutional review of current Agency governance and regulatory frameworks, seeking to document and enhance environmental guidance in UNRWA's structure and documentation, for CSSDrelated areas. Leads and coordinates the implementation of related sustainability initiatives to ensure that environmental sustainability in procurement and administration is established and updated.
- Responsible for all sustainability action plan and tasks under CSSD responsibility and ensure follow up with regular and adequate reporting to Chief Central Support Services. Work closely with Head of Procurement, Administration and Policy & Compliance Monitoring and support closely the implementation of sustainability initiatives in those areas.
- Coordinates the provision of data to support energy audits at selected sites and contributes to the development of an Agencywide energy information system. Has the responsibility for reporting tasks within CSSD for all sustainability projects and initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities
The consultant will report to the Chief Central Support Services and will be based within Central Support Services Division, Amman.
The consultant will be part of a project team supporting a new agency-wide initiative, the Sustainable Management and Resource Efficient Transformation (SMART) project and will serve as the primary contact for all aspects of the project connected to CSSD functions including procurement/sustainable procurement, utilities billing and energy/GHG data reporting, facilities management and activities related to corporate capacity strengthening in these functional areas.
The SMART project aims to improve sustainability in UNRWA operations, particularly in relation to energy generation / usage, which will enable UNRWA to enhance its sustainability commitments in administration and procurement areas.

Within the Central Support Services Division (CSSD), the consultant will be working closely with Chief Central Support Services (CSSD), Environmental Manager, Heads of Procurement CSSD, Administrative Services and Policy & Compliance Monitoring Section

Remuneration is linked to the salary scale and equivalent grade. The remuneration for the grade 17 equivalent is JOD 1157.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree in environmental policy, environmental management or in business administration, with sustainability related content, such as corporate sustainability reporting, sustainable procurement, or a related field.
At least five years of experience related to corporate environmental sustainability, of which at least three years have been in a senior position.
Knowledge of the overall business environment of the host country and relevant laws, regulations, and practices is desirable.Languages
Excellent English communication skills are essential, both oral and written. Applicants should demonstrate the ability to draft documents proficiently in English. Arabic skills are an asset.
