The Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and procedures. This position involves a range of tasks related to financial transactions, data entry, reconciliations, reporting, budgeting, treasury management, and payroll.
Responsibilities:
1. Accounts Payable:- Process and verify invoices for payment.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors.
- 2. Accounts Receivable:
- Generate and send out invoices to clients.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables.
- Record and reconcile customer payments.
- 3. General Ledger:
- Record financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- 4. Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Generate and analyze financial reports as needed.
- Provide support during audits and financial reviews.
- 5. Budgeting:
- Collaborate with management to develop and monitor the quarterly budget.
- Track actual financial performance against budgeted targets.
- Provide analysis and recommendations for budget adjustments.
- 6. Treasury Management:
- Manage and forecast cash flow to ensure adequate funds are available.
- Monitor banking activities and reconcile bank statements.
- Execute fund transfers and oversee investment activities.
- 7. Payroll:
- Process and verify employee time and attendance records.
- Calculate and process payroll in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and reporting.
- 8. Expense Management:
- Review and process expenses reports.
- Ensure compliance with expense policies.
- Reconcile expenses accounts.
- 9. Compliance and Documentation:
- Stay current with accounting regulations and best practices.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings.
- Communication:
- Collaborate with internal teams and departments.
- Respond to inquiries from vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Provide financial information to management as needed.
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as an Accounting Specialist or similar role 2-3 years.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficient in SAP B1 and Microsoft office.
- Experience in budgeting, treasury management, and payroll processing.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
