Job ObjectivesTo provide front-line technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and basic networking issues.
The role ensures timely and professional handling of user requests and plays a key role in maintaining IT service quality across the organization.
Responsibilities And DutiesEnd-User Support & Troubleshooting
Respond to user requests via phone, email, or ticketing systems.
Provide support for hardware such as laptops, desktops, printers, and peripherals.
Troubleshoot common issues related to system crashes, connectivity, and software performance including MS Office and email.
Setup & Configuration
Configure new user accounts, devices, and applications in line with IT standards.
Assist in onboarding and provide basic IT orientation for new hires.
Ensure users have proper access, credentials, and functioning equipment.
Maintenance & Records
Conduct regular software updates, antivirus checks, and system inspections.
Maintain detailed records of support tickets, resolutions, and hardware allocations.
Support asset tracking and documentation of IT inventory.
Escalation & Team Coordination
Escalate unresolved or complex issues to the Team Lead or System Administrators.
Collaborate with the broader IT team during incident response or technical rollouts.
Participate in support process reviews and suggest areas for improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Fundamentals, or equivalent are an advantage.
Years Of Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience in IT infrastructure or technical support roles.
Behavioral Requirements/Competencies
Service-minded and professional in handling user requests.
Organized and dependable with good documentation habits.
Clear communicator with technical and non-technical users.
Eager to learn and develop IT troubleshooting skills.
Calm under pressure and responsive to urgent issues.
Works well in a team environment and follows escalation procedures.
Technical Requirements
Familiarity with operating systems including Windows and macOS and common office applications.
Experience handling basic networking issues and troubleshooting connectivity.
Knowledge of ticketing systems, remote support tools, and basic hardware setup.
Ability to follow IT standards and contribute to documentation.
Exposure to Active Directory, IP configuration, and inventory systems is a plus.
