The Deep Dark Forces

Our dark feelings are the dark cork in

TR RS RT Tv)

Do you know the deep dark forces operating inside you and advance you to the rear? Do you know where they hide in the corners of your body making your life struggling to move forward only to find yourself moving backwards?

These dark forces are driving your life without control. This is like driving the steering wheels of a car forward when there is a hidden wheel secretly hiding in the back of the car and drive you in the opposite direction. You make fruitless effort to move forward and only find yourself driving to the rear? This happens to all of us.
Ali Anani

I want to start with a very simple scientific fact to explain later what I mean of what I have said so far. A black object absorbs light and does not reflect it. One way to study dark materials is to expose them to light. The black body absorbs the energy from light source and the black body heats up. The black body heats the trapped air in the test tube as the image below shows. In turn, the black body heats up the trapped air, which then causes the air to make sound.

The relationship between the light wavelength and intensity of the sound help us understand the dark material and penetrate inside it to see its internal structure.

This is what we experience in life. As we grow up we find that we may suffer from parents who fill our hearts with fear. Or, we were always criticized for being stupid and that we shall never succeed in life. These plans dark emotional forces in us and these solidify into a dark cork that allows no light in, but fortunately may heat the air in our chests to generate sound that shall expose our internal fears and the need to deal with them. Remember that the sound you hear inside you is the shadow of your internal dark feelings as Carl Jung describes them. Transparent feelings don’t produce shadow and only dark and semi-dark feelings solidify into a dark body that gives a shadow. Thus, dark feelings give us a shadow to better our understanding of them.

The light source is asking the proper questions to reveal the root causes of our fears. To seek our comfort, we sweep away our negative feelings only to gain momentum with time and change the directions of our lives. The shadow we get shall not be straight if the cork is crocked. If our feelings are crocked, so shall be our shadow. We need to straighten the cork, to straighten our lives. Our persona to appear to the world the way we wish shall be negated by the hidden driver in the rear of the car steering you to what you don’t wish to be.

The shadow is a psychological term for everything we can’t see in ourselves. To restore balance, we need to accept the self-shadow and understand it so that their corks may produce musical sounds to our ears.

I have had great exchanges of messages with Harvey Loyd. I plan to write an e-book based on those messages. For now, I shall share (having got the approval of Harvey to do so) some of the observations that the shadow drive us to hear the shadow of their dark sounds. Harvey highlighted the value of observing our self-shadow, conclude from what we observe and then find a solution to the problem. I will just add here with observe we need to ask why to arrive at the right conclusions.

If an author comments on a buzz without offering a solution or a hint for one. We know then this author may be confused, and he/she projects his confusion to the world. The shadow-self is steering the author to confuse others as he/she is confused. Unless the author admits his confusion and deals with it to find a solution his comments will continue to be confusing. The dragons within the shadow-self shall continue to have the steering of the wheels of his/her life.

If somebody thinks he is ugly he shall live in the fear of approaching beautiful girls. He shall have the tendency to look for ugliness in what he reads, he observes, he senses because he is comfortably living in this ugliness. This shall project differently on his persona and widely different of what he tries to be in the eyes of others.

Your life depends on what you store beliefs and axioms in the hidden side of shadow-self. Beware of this wagon driver sitting in the back seat. The dragon is dancing to the sound of your dark forces stored in you.

Acknowledgement- it is with great appreciation that I acknowledge the exchange of messages with Harvey Lloyd. His insight reflects his beautiful persona to the world. He has the courage to observe, conclude and find solutions or suggest ones. He has helped me dig deep into my own shadow-self.

I came across many testimonies on net testifying of GREAT Dr OCUSODO a voodoo spell caster that will help you cast a LOTTERY spell and give you the rightful numbers to win the lottery. I didn’t believe it at first. But as life got harder, I decided to take a try. Now my try has made me a millionaire after playing all types of lottery for 7 years and hadn’t won up to $1000. After contacting him he cast the spell and gave me the hot figures. Behold, I won (FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS) $70,000. Now I am a living testimony of the good works of GREAT Dr OCUSODO, a gifted man with great powers; it is my secret but I have decided to make the world know too. I dont disagree with the view as a parlor trick. But the MB allows us to actualize a very complex concept. Superficial, yes. But given the alternatives, it does give some value to discourse.

That is a part of Carl Jung that i most like - that he was focused on the human condition at such a tremendous depth. I know that you said you were INTJ but I place less stock in Myers-Briggs because within the first few pages of Psychological Types, Jung said he left the Types discussion to the end of the book because the focus of his work was not the types itself and indeed he warned that we should not as he put it play "childish parlour games" with types. Now on Myers-Briggs I come out as an INTP and apparently INTP's are characterized as people who say they reject formulations but still write a tremendous amount about being an INTP :-)

Dear Deb🐝 Lange, Brand Ambassador @beBee- I believe it is both words the physical and the virtual. For some people, the virtual is far less important than the physical, but at least they keep their footage. For me, both are important because I get the opportunity of exchanging thoughts with people across the globe. Physical it gives me the feeling of proximity and more living attractions. Yes, as I said before, I am against separation thinking and I am more for this and that rather than this or that. Great to talk to you again. You know I mean what I say.

I appreciate and accept the wholeness of your comment. I am using the brad metaphor for it is a basic commodity and i have ideas to expand on it. I shall surely benefit from your comment. I the egg whiten is what holds the cake together. The same with bread it is one ingredient that makes bread what it is. What each ingredient presents is the point I intend to share and then reflect on humans.

Harvey Lloyd

منذ 5 سنوات #57

#62
I have used the ingredients of the "cake" in many presentations. Although flour is the largest ingredient is it the most important? Each ingredient plays a role in the cake. Depending on the endeavour the cake is to engage, ingredients change. The flour brings mass to the cake while flavors and colors bring visual recognition and remembrance of our own past. Sugar in its varying forms and colors brings the sense of taste to the endeavour. The egg is what binds all of it together so that it will stand up to the endeavour. The smallest major component is the egg and represents leadership in this context. The egg is what determines how well the other ingredients join forces within the cake and its intended purposes.. Make no mistake though, every ingredient is important, regardless of purpose, role or size. If you are to be the egg, then be a good one. We should not concern ourselves with measuring each ingredients value within the whole. We should measure our efforts from where we stand to be what is needed so the rest of the ingredients can perform their best.

I am looking for a title for my next buzz and you inspired me with one (if it makes sense). I haven't firmed up my focus as I am considering different thoughts. One idea is cooking an art or science or both? Why following procedures (recipes) can be unwise? What do we learn from the kitchen? Flour as a metaphor for creativity. Now, the title "Ideas on the roost" sounds interesting for me because it goes well with your comment "A human endevour is a human endevour. Sports, professional or social it all comes to roost when we require different skills and knowledge within a task.". Creativity is a skill and science and it is a human endeavor. The paths differ, but at the end their is a roost to which all come. Yes, when we realize this simple fact no wonder our endeavors in sports or in business share a roost.

Harvey Lloyd

منذ 5 سنوات #54

A human endevour is a human endevour. Sports, proffesional or social it all comes to roost when we require different skills and knowledge within a task. The core of humanity is humans attempting to find individaul meaning while surviving. The wealth we have experienced within the world over the last century has added a bunch of layers to this basic concept. Wealth is not bad but it has caused us to raise the bar of survival. Survival these days includes the very materialistic aspects of proffesional growth. Jung was retaining a very ancient story of the core beliefs of humanity. Wealth was neither bad or good. Just luggage stacked upon existance that seemed to be clouding our view.

If we look at and reduce human relationships to some simplistic view....We could state that upon meeting someone we are asking how much can i trust you? The level of trust we need is based on the activity we are engaged. The higher the risk the more trust we require. In a very post modern way we use various understandings to get to the level of trust we need. Where were you born, schools attended or maybe social media following. There are many more where we give instant trust or close ourselves off, based on these understandings. These have some merit. MB or the shadow self requires us to spend time with individuals to understand their motivations. I believe this is the key to success. It is the harder road to travel but offers us a better understanding of the knowledge and skill application of the team member. We can always find smart, skilled and knowledgable folks. The question is can we motivate them to share a journey with the rest of the team. This depends largely on if we can harness them within a win-win structure.

We all find ourselves in front of others with thoughts that may help them on their journey. These thoughts come by warning thoughts, disipline thoughts or challenging thoughts. I use the word thought because it is that moment before we open our mouths. I believe the langauge has changed in our present world and words like EQ/EI (Emotional Intellegence) are the cover words and point towards a disciplined shadow self. It would be quite difficult to develop EI if our shadow self was not in harmony with this concept. We can attempt to work through these skills within our ego, but the shadow will drag us back to our own axioms. The surface level view of the Jung thoughts carry us to the MB (Meyers-Briggs) understanding of personalities. Not so much to produce a label for self but rather the deeper understanding that each of us has our shadow self we work. This is what leadership is coordinating into a team. In the end a leader will need to marshal the troops towards a shared end. Complex task. The way to harness maximum energy is to understand the shadow self concept. Either at the level of Jung or at a minimum of the MB styled types.

It is fitting that you mention Harvey Lloyd the leaders and their forces in dealing with the shadow-self, the egos of their teams if they are to lead with results. Ahhh...Lovely buzz Ali 🐝 Anani, Brand Ambassador @beBee...The 'shadow-self' is our deep, dark friend....Simply put, they are the needs that have never been met...the sadness that has never been expressed...the buried and left for dead emotions that have been locked away in solitary confinement for days. weeks...and for most of us, decades. They are the ones we put on drugs because we don't want to deal with them...Shame on you medical establishment...you are the 'abscess' of the human race...a long history of medicating the very pain in need of being felt and expressed in order to heal. If we will just allow ourselves the full expression of emotional release of that hurting part of us...our 'shadow- selves...we will begin to recognize the messages our spirit has long been crying out for our attention. When we are willing to sit with compassion for all the pain that we have ever felt, and not run away from it, we free ourselves, mind body and spirit of all emotional suffering...The 'shadow-self' then fills with light...healing the pain of the past that ends the pain we feel in our present...and creates for us a fresh canvas to paint a new 'pain free' future;-)

Not so much balanceing as it is choosing. If we elect to take the journey and understand the shadow axioms then we explore the basis of our ego. Should we chose not to then our ego is managed by the persona interstate with others. My boss may show a persona where i need to change my ego basis of execution, in an effort to align personas. This would represent the chaos within ego. I must have many different ego self, depending on existencial circumstances. Whereas if ego is executed around axioms my ego is set within an orthodoxy and i need not change the persona to adapt my ego within social or proffesional settings. This would be substantiated within a few quick trials of attempting win-win verses choosing win lose or lose win. My comments were meant to establsih that the shadow Jung refers is the one where we insert axioms and remove the ones that dont work for us. I was seeing a trend of langauge within comments that see darkness or shadow in the Freudian way. Jung didnt look at just present but the thousands of years of history that described the container he called the shadow. Neither negative or positive.

Very deep thoughts here Harvey Lloyd. The shadow of our values and axioms rest under ego. More interesting for me, is that if the opposite nature of our ego and shadow that if one is in order the other shall be chaotic and vice versa. SO much to assimilate her. Why wouldn't they of the same structure? Is it a balancing act? I am pondering on this one. .

Harvey Lloyd

منذ 5 سنوات #39

We seem to be examining the negative of this shadow-darkness. In leadership when we become aware of the Jung concept we begin to understand the fundamental principal that our ego is motivated by our shadow selves. Let's place the love your neighbor/win-win concept within the shadow self. To the point of orthodox understanding. This would tell our ego that the lowest paid and the highest paid are equal, as an example. This would alter how our persona negotiates with all matters of our network. When a leader understands this concept a clear path of execution is seen and those he/she connects senses this shadow. Without this shadow concept we allow the ego to execute circumstantially. This creates a mine field of left over executions that were plaid out and we have to keep a map of our past. Leaders cross through the same territory at many levels. Without the axiom or shadow concept they treat it differently each time.

I am enjoying the commentary on the dark or shadow concepts. I would add though that the darkness as seen by social interaction positive/negative is more ego centric. The shadow that Jung discussed is the chosen or hidden values our ego sets atop. These values can be orthodox or chaotic in nature. Amazingly if the shadow is chaotic then our ego tends to be orthodox in nature. The opposite is true if the shadow self is orthadox. There is one thing assured. Chaos can be found within the human as they stride through life. The question largely is which one would i rather be orthadox? Shadow or ego? The darkness of the ego is where we see the depravity of man or the humanity of existance. Our shadow is that place we hold axioms such as love your neighbor or the later version of this win-win. Our ego will follow this axiom to the best of its ability. So what if the shadow self is nialistic? The axiom may be that mankind is depraved and needs to be cleansed of itself. The ego now becomes a tool of destruction. These are shown as extreme ends of how our shadow works. The shadow is something we need to bring into the light. The challenge here is that our ego having operated in a stable environment (According to ourselves) doesnt like change. So it challenges these shadow styled changes.

I truly enjoyed your comment Chris 🐝R Guest. You remind me of a personal story. Back and after finishing my PhD I met with a girl whom I was attracted to. I considered engaging to her. One day she said that she hates yellow colors and that blue was her most adorable color. Next day I wore s a faint yellow shirt with blue stripes. How she reacted was amazing. She criticized me with brutal words. She saw the side that she hated and ignored the blue stripes that she liked. Why she hated yellow color was her problem to find out. I wanted to examine how she reacted to the things she hated. That was the end of my relations. She saw the "darkness on the edge my love". She could have said "even though I don't like yellow colors you made me change my mind about yellow colors". Our hate to a certain thing reflects in our behaviors and for some people stronger than the things we like. Why do we allow darkness to win?

Ali, for me it's hard to comment on something such incredibly complex as a human psyche without having the knowledge on a particular subject matter, based only on exploring some articles on the web or explaining everything with fractal nature (although there are some surveys that refuse the notion that the universe is fractal). :-) As far as I understand, shadow-self is characterised by both unfavourable and ruinous attitudes but also by good qualities - normal instincts and creative stimuli. I think Manjit wrote about it. Apparently, one way to uncover our dark side is by paying attention to the traits that bother us in others. Interesting! I read one intriguing thought by Jung about acknowledging our shadow and its gift, “The gold is in the dark.” I would also like to hear what some trained psychoanalyst has to say about it.

Dear Ali, first I would point out an unintentional error in the text. Namely, a black object absorbs light; it absorbs all wavelengths of light and converts them into heat, so the object gets warm. Contrary to white objects which reflect all wavelengths of light. Because I am not so familiar with Psychology, I was searching for some further explanations of the term you mentioned, shadow-self. According to the Jungian Model of the psyche, what Jung called the Shadow is not without purpose or merit and has an important role to play in balancing the overall psyche. Light and dark are necessary for our personal growth. He believed that without a well-developed shadow side, a person can easily become shallow and extremely preoccupied with the opinions of others, a walking Persona. It is such an interesting topic that you bring in this post and like the human psyche has several layers. :-)

Its important to acknowledge, integrate or juggle with the deep dark. Its a fully integrated component that one has also to take on frontally and accept fully as a part of a persona whatever this might be. You cannot suppress it, its there and it will catch up with you and be dominant if you choose to be binary, its not one or the other its not a question of keeping it at bay I think its simply both sides of the same card. You can recognize ugliness and prefer beauty sometimes you may revert the choice. its about unbiased consciousness of both as long as you are aware of your choices its fine ….. well most of the time :-)

Surprises can be happy ones Zacharias 🐝 Voulgaris. I was thinking in terms of the dark forces that impede us moving forward.

I was expecting a Star Wars themed post, with light-saber fights and stuff, where the hero is challenged to join the dark side, etc. :-) Sometimes the plain facts are equally interesting though, as in this case.

This is what pleased me because you share in it a glimpse of your experience. How do "read" the customers? What sounds they send that we should monitor? Yes, it isn't exact science, but the probability of success increases. There are many gems in your thirty years of experience and I am sure you have lot more to say.

I would probably be described better as an antagonist. Angels scare me as i dont think i could stand inside that concept without getting zapped pretty hard. What does the persona/behaviour i experience tell me about the shadow? This has been a thirty year journey where i seek answers only to find more questions. It has been the one challenge that has helped me understand my customers and networks. When we can tie back behaviours/persona to personality types or axioms then we can better interpret what is important to a customer or professional where we have risk. Most importantly it allows us to better understand if forward motion is even possible within the risk envelope. If someone sets upon a rock solid axiom that i know cant carry us forward or will be threatened by the forward motion, they will become a antagonist to the motion. I can choose this path as a learning experience for them and i chose to do this, the rest of the team doesnt. I can also chose to sideline the individaul because i need them preserved for other aspects of the goal. This is not an exact science so it can often be a wrong headed move. But this process keeps us from burring our heads in the sand.

Thank you Harvey Lloyd for your contribution of this lovely comment. Yes, that was why I showed the persona and shadow-self pointing in two different directions. We tend to see our strengths and the traits that beautify our persona, when there is a devil sitting in the back seat driving us closer to the things that terrify us. I couldn't have written this buzz without your active participation and exchanges of messages with you. You are the angel sitting in the back seat and moving me forward.

The shadow, soul or metaphysical existance is a challenging space to discuss. Amazingly we tend not to discuss this space as it is the birthplace of our thoughts, reactions and measurements of behavior. These conditions is how we have created our social networks, raised families and determined that we are in the right place of life. To open up the shadow and discuss the axioms that these things stand upon challenges our existance. I have found that it requires a new langauge and understanding of presentation. Often the shadow concept is interpreted by many as a persona. This is where a lot of confusion comes. When we speak to disruptive technologies, we can also speak in the same langauge when we discuss the shadow self. It is very disruptive. The concept of our shadow tends to cause a reach back of past experiences and re-evaluation, this is very disruptive. Thanks for the post and it is insightful as we discuss the axioms that we rely on to balance our world.

Thank you dear @Lisa Lange (your name isn't highlighting). I missed your comments greatly. Yes, you are right and with shared willingness to learn from each other Harvey Lloyd and I myself are growing together. Some of the exchanges have to remain personal, but soon I shall share many of the ideas that we entertained. I shall leave out any personal issues, but I feel sharing some of our exchanges shall be of interest to many readers. I have had this relation for sometime with you Lisa, but then you disappeared from the stage. I look forward to learning from you.
