Saba Shanaah

My name is Saba Shanaah, I am from Jordan, in the Middle East. I lived most of my life in the United State, I got the best of both worlds!

I earned my BA in Law from the university of Jordan in Amman, and my Masters degree from SMU school of law in International law and human rights.

I worked at the InterContinental Hotel of Amman and the Marriott hotel in Columbus, Ohio.

I have also worked with the Riverview International Center team in helping and translating some documents, it was a great experience!

I am currently teaching pre-k students Arabic at Sunrise Academy school, a truly rewarding experience.

With my education in International organizations and human rights, my interpersonal and organizational skills, my knowledge of both Arab and Western cultures, my goal is to settle down in Jordan and give to my community.

Outreach worker at My Baby &Me program;  Performing home visits to new and expecting mothers and families in need of assistance in housing, food, medical and psychological services. Making appropriate referrals to assisting programs in the different aspects of a life of a new or expecting mothers, in an attempt to reduce infant mortality, premature labor, child abuse and neglect.

Sunrise Academy, Hilliard, OH. September 2021- June 2022.

Pre-k teacher. Introducing Arabic language and culture to Arab-American students, with emphasis on Arab and Islamic values and perspective, using creative teaching methods.

Access 2 Interpreters, Columbus OH. September 2020-May2021

Provided accurate Arabic interpretation in medical offices and hospitals (such as Ohio Health medical institution), as well as in courts and schools.

The Ohio State University, Columbus Ohio. September 1999-March 2001

Teaching Assistant, taught the highest level of Arabic language and culture to undergraduate students, using modern teaching methods.
