- Develop a WEPs Strategy for Jordan Country Office.
- Increase the number of WEPs signatories in the private sector by 10 more signatories.
- Identify and collaborate closely with 10 WEPs signatories interested to adopt or reform internal policies, procedures and/or tools to support recruitment, and retention of female employees, and/or procurement, and marketing policies based on the capacity building interventions provided to them.
- Identify and collaborate closely with 10 WEPs signatories interested to increase women's representation in leadership positions among WEP signatory firms in Jordan based on the developed manual and previous interventions on that regard.
- Provide technical support to the development of M&E tool to measure the progress achieved by UN Women Jordan Country Office in promoting gender equality and women's empowerment in the workplace, marketplace and community through the WEPs.
- Provide technical advice to UN Women responsible party on how to better develop Business Continuity plans for women owned and women led businesses. Required Skills and Experience:
- Master's degree or equivalent in business, economic, social science, or other related fields.
- A bachelor's degree in combination with 2 additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Experience:
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible work experience in the field of private sector engagement for social impact.
- Proven experience in strengthening the capacities of the private sector in alignment with the WEPs.
- Good understanding of gender mainstreaming in the private sector in Jordan. Languages:

UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.Jordan's women's labour force participation rate is around 14%, which is considered as one of the lowest labour force participation rates in the world in a country that is not in a conflict. The adverse impact of this reality has multilayered effects. Historically, the government of Jordan has recognized in its national frameworks the need to address this challenge, most recently in the Economic Modernization Vision, which set a national target to double the current women's labour force participation rate by 2033. All stakeholders including the government, private sector, civil society organizations including employees' and employers' associations and experts agree that increasing women's labour force participation in the private sector is key to meet this target.
UN Women Jordan Country Office supports the Government of Jordan in achieving its national goals and targets and has reflected this commitment into its Strategic Note for the period by enhancing the private sector's capacity to integrate gender equality in its work and to promote and support women's entrepreneurship, labor force participation and economic empowerment through its value chain. Mainly through collaborating with the private sector to reform and introduce and institutionalize measurements that support gender equality and women's empowerment and ensure it is captured, documented and shared. One of the primary vehicles for that is the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs). The Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs) are a primary vehicle for corporate delivery on gender equality dimensions of the 2030 agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The Private Sector Engagement Analyst Consultant will work in close collaboration with the programme and operations team, UN Women HQ personnel, Government officials, multi and bi-lateral donors and civil society ensuring successful UN Women programme implementation under portfolio.
